Unite08 – An Unrealistic Political Opportunist’s Favorite Third Party

January 26th, 2012

Again, history is on the path to repeat itself in American Politics. It seems like for 2 different reasons America’s citizens have felt the need for a third party in politics. Either they believe in one or two political issues that they feel are not given a big enough role in either of the two big parties platforms or they don’t believe in anything and are annoyed with how democracy and debate work to solve political issues in society.

The green movement in American politics showed that the first of the reasons for forming a political third party actually are useful way of having an impact on politics. The main reason the American political system has only two parties is the ballot setup and how political elections are won. As we all know, it takes a majority or 51% of the vote to win most elections in politics and 51% of the state’s citizens votes to win all of the state’s electoral college votes.

The majority system in politics pits two candidates against each other and gives no incentives for only winning 15% of the votes. The contrast to the American political system is Great Britain, which has

The flavor can also be enhanced by adding other ingredients during the baking process. A fully cooked ham should be cooked to an internal temperature of 140 degrees.

Spiral Sliced Ham

Why Is Your Cat Overweight?

January 22nd, 2012

Food

Dry food has been a recommended staple diet for cats by many experts for a number of years. It is an easy option to leave a bowl of dry food out constantly; something that cannot be done with tinned food. Unfortunately though, it’s not a natural food source and has been developed by humans using many additives and un-natural products. Cats, like humans, will eat until they fill themselves up. However, dry food has many more calories and carbohydrates than a natural food source, which leads to the cat taking in far more than necessary just to feel full-up. Many owners assume that their cat is just greedy, but in many cases it is not the quantity of food being eaten, it is the quality.

Naturally, cats are obligate carnivores; meaning they only feed on other animals. The cats prey however, are generally herbivorous and have various vegetable and plant matter in their guts. All of which, will be consumed by the cat. Domestic cats have been shown to have longer intestines than wild cats; proving they have evolved over hundreds of years to cope with more plant and vegetable matter (carbohydrates). Still, this is no excuse

E-Cigarettes – a Controversial Way to Quit Smoking

November 10th, 2011

Nowadays, e-cigarettes (for example, Blu Cigs) are extremely popular among those who have decided to quit smoking, but lack the willpower of doing it at once. They replace the entire smoking experience (including the nicotine fix), but do not involve the toxic tobacco smoke which is not only dangerous for your health, but also extremely unpleasant for those unfortunate enough to be in your vicinity when you smoke. Yes, e-cigs seem to be a nice investment if you want to quit smoking gradually. However, there are people who consider that these devices are simply a way of deceiving yourself, of replacing one bad habit with another. After all, you’ll still be inhaling nicotine, which is addictive. So, in the end, it’s up to you to decide what is more important – being free of addictions or being dependent on your hourly smoking ritual. Personally, I decided to quit completely, and since then I have never looked back.
