Picking the Best Stocks to Buy is Like Chess

Sunday, September 25th, 2011

There is an analogy that many people like to use regarding picking the best stocks to buy in any given situation. They say you can invest like a chess player or like someone playing checkers. It’s actually a fairly good metaphor. You’re probably not surprised to know that the chess players are the ones that make the most money and pick the best stocks.

Some invest directly in stocks that are affected by any given piece of news. For example, when Apple announces a break though product like they have in the past with the iPhone and iPad, it’s stock shoots up. That’s a simple checker move.

But the ones who are really savvy know to also buy up stocks of the companies that are associated with Apple. They will buy stocks in the companies that provide supplies to them. For example, these chess player investors will buy stocks in chip makers and other parts manufacturers that will provide the pieces for these devices.

Many people prefer to choose the Roth IRA plan, because they know that this is more advantageous when it comes to paying the taxes. Of course, there are some Roth IRA rules that must be followed in order for a Roth withdrawal to become eligible.

First of all, the account holders must be at least 59 and 1/2 years old, and the account must have been opened for at least 5 years. If the account holder will buy his first home, or if he gets physically disabled, limited amount of tax-free withdrawal will be allowed.

Understanding a Candlestick in Candlestick Chart Patterns

Thursday, July 28th, 2011

First introduced by Japanese to track rice price activity in the olden days, candlesticks today is the most commonly used tool for price representation in charts and especially important for Candlestick Chart Patterns.

A candlestick is made up of a body and shadows (lines that extend from the top and bottom of the candlestick). The rectangle body of the candlestick is created from the opening price and closing price for the selected timeframe.

For example that a 4-hour candlestick that is formed between 8am to 12pm, we can know that the opening and closing of the candlestick is 8am and 12pm respectively. In this period of time, price can move beyond the opening and closing price causing ‘shadows’ to be formed. These will register as the high and low of the candlestick.

If you see a long candlestick body formed, it means that there a high price movement and if you see a long shadow formed, it means a strong price rejection.

Will the Price of Silver Go Up?

Friday, June 10th, 2011

Many people these days are more interested in buying silver because they believe that price of silver will definitely go up in the future. One of the main reasons why the prices might go up is because there is limited silver left in the mines. As per the research done by many silver extracting companies they have found that we have already consumed 90% of the global silver in the last 4000 years and therefore there is not much left now in the mines.

This means that in the near future there will be no silver available. Hence, people are quickly stocking up more and more silver so that they can demand good prices when they need to sell it in the future and double up their investments. Apart from that many industries are also using silver for production of consumer goods and that can shoot up the prices as well.

Roth IRA Benefits

Wednesday, May 25th, 2011

A Roth IRA is very similar to other Individual Retirement Account plans. However, some of its features make the Roth IRA more popular than the IRAs that are offered to people who are planning their retirements. Some of its best features include all withdrawals are free although the contributions that are made consists of after tax dollars. This statement is only true, however, for those who meet certain requirements such as the age limits of being at least age 59 and a half and the account is at least five years old. Another excellent benefit is that there are no minimum distributions requirements for individuals who are 70.5 years old. A contributor can also withdraw money from their Roth IRA at any time without paying income taxes up to the amount of their contributions. Therefore, dipping into the earnings occasionally if needed will have no tax consequences. Another advantage of placing contributions into a Roth Ira is that anyone can contribute at any age because there are no age limit requirements.

Divergences Are Not the Best Way to Trade Forex

Tuesday, May 17th, 2011

Many people trade Forex with tools, indicators and techniques that are flawed. Most of these traders, although well-meaning, do not know that these tools, indicators and techniques are flawed. Some examples are divergences and the idea of an indicator that tells traders that prices are overbought and oversold. There are other such methods of trading that are also flawed. Standard trading methods like moving averages, handdrawn trendlines, Elliott Wave, Fibonacci Ratios, Gann lines, etc.

Forex traders who trade divergences do so thinking that a divergence signals a reversal. Statistically divergences are just retracement signals, not reversal signals that change the direction of a trend.

Traders who want to succeed in Forex must look for a training method that looks at how to trade in an integrated method which takes traders from beginning to end in terms of learning what you need to know and how to do it successfully.

Learn an integrated trading method and you will become a better and more successful trader of Forex.

The Difference Between Traditional and Roth IRAs

Saturday, April 9th, 2011

When traditional IRAs had been enhanced, the product that resulted out of it is the Roth IRA. This retirement account offers a lot of benefits to its owner and there is no wonder there are a lot of people who choose it instead of other retirement accounts available in the market. Perhaps what attracts people to this plan are the set of rules that govern it.

What most people don’t like about traditional IRA accounts is that you could pay a lot of taxes toward it. This makes other people feel that they are not making the most out of their IRA rates. For example, should there be a need for you to withdraw from your traditional IRA at a time when you are not 59 and a half years old yet, you would need to pay a fine of 10% in the form of tax. You also would need to pay taxes every time contributions are made.
