Cereal and Wine Are No Good Together

Tuesday, September 13th, 2011

This morning I ate oatmeal for breakfast. When I was growing up my parents always liked to eat oatmeal in the morning, but I didn’t like it very much, and preferred cereal. I have never liked sugary cereals very much, but instead my favorite cereal has always been Cheerios. I was in the grocery store here recently and noticed that Cheerios, or anything comparable, do not exist here which surprised me since they are such a classic cereal.

I always like to eat cereal before doing activities or going on tours in Buenos Aires. Some of my favorite things to do in the city are tango shows, soccer games, and estancia visits. I actually remember reading not to long ago that cereal sales in general are down quite a bit in the United States. I wonder if that is true here in Argentina? The thing is that I don’t think many people eat cereal in Buenos Aires. Also, cereal is very expensive here, and it is all very sugary. The one cereal I like a lot here are the Quaker Oat Squares. They sell these in other countries too.

While I like cereal in the morning, I do not like to eat cereal at dinnertime. This is because I like to eat food that goes well with boutique malbecs, bonardas, and sometimes torrontes. I like to taste wine each night at dinner, as if I made my own great Buenos Aires wine tasting. I guess I have never had cereal with wine, but it doesn’t sound good to me. Maybe that would be a great new food pairing that could be used at wine tastings here in Buenos Aires, Argentina. These days I eat oatmeal though, which I think is healthier and also is cheaper than cereal. The major downside of eating oatmeal is that it takes longer to prepare than cold cereal.

Shelf Life of Liquid Malt Extract

Friday, September 2nd, 2011

Unopened cans of liquid extract have a very long shelf life. Liquid extract may be usable for up to two to four yeas, but as with most perishable goods, the fresher they are the better result you will have when brewing your beer. If your can shows any signs of puncture or bulge, then you will want to discard immediately and brew with a new source of liquid malt. Six to eight months is generally the limit when it comes to the freshness of your canned liquid malt extract. Dry malt extract has a much longer shelf life if you keep it sealed and refrigerated. When stored correctly dry malt extract can potentially last for indefinite periods, but again, the fresher the ingredients the better the product. If you are looking to exchange your liquid extract for a dry extract, make sure you consult your Beer Recipes for instructions on how to do so properly.

If you have been shopping online and discovered that somehow your bank balance has shrunk somehow then you may be a victim of credit card fraud, and may need to visit your Bank as soon as possible. It may take only one transaction for hackers to pick up your details, and they may go wild with your credit card at your expense. Your bank will be able to give you a list of transactions and you may be able to trace which ones were done without your consent at which stores on which dates. You will most probably need to open a case at the Police in order for the case to be investigated. Labeling Machines for Bottles

Friday, July 1st, 2011

All the products out there, be them beverages, wines, foods, need a label, and if you own a shop, or a beverage brand, you definitely need a labeling machine. The label of the product can only say so much about it, in fact, the label itself can sometimes sell more than the actual product, but don’t ever rely on that! But don’t neglect the importance of labels anyway, good quality products with great labels will usually sell very good, and the people will start liking it. This applies to beverages as well, just make sure you respect the techniques used for the making of a good tasting beer, but use a creative/funny/serious label as well, if you want to maximize your chances for the public to buy it. This labeling machine isn’t much of an invention, and it doesn’t cost much as well, and if you own a beverage factory, you definitely need one of these.
